Up for your consideration is a very nice early 1943 , Colt 1911a1 , .45acp , 5in barrel , serial # 906660 . The condition of this WW11 survivor is superb . The bore , lands and grooves , are excellent with no pitts or rust . The parkerizing is also excellent with no pitts or rust . Just a touch of wear at left side of crown and a tiny small take down mark , both areas really hard to see . All correct cartouches . The stampings are deep and clear and that speaks volumes . Has the GHD inspector mark and the faint final inspection mark ," ordnance wheel , crossed cannon" ,on right rear upper area of the frame. It has the "P" on top of the slide . The grips have the reinforced support ribs and have no chips or cracks .A little wear on the 4 grip screw heads .The magazine is like new marked with the "L" on the toe . The firing pin retainer plate has the mirrored serial # that matches the frame . The serial # on the slide matches the frame . The frame has the "G" towards the top right rear . The barrel has the "Colt 45" and P at the lug and the letter N over the G forward of the lug . The feed ramp is in the white . It has the correct heat treatment applied to the slide from the crown back a few inches and also around the slide stop . The pictures were taken outside . Almost impossible to improve on this one .
