***SOLD*** Super a nice All Original, WWII Colt 1911A1 U.S Property, 45 auto!
This Colt was made in 1945 and shipped to Transportation Officer, Springfield Armory on May 31st, 1945 (one of 2,700 guns in that shipment). It's marked G.H.D for Guy H. Drewry, Brig. General inspector mark. Correct barrel, marked with a "P" on left side of barrel lug, and the proper "C" within a square on right hand side of barrel lug. Good bore condition, with a little frostiness but strong and sharp rifling.
"Crossed cannon" final inspection appropriately marked on left side of receiver. Bullet ramp correctly finished (parkerized), as expected on Colts produced after 1944!
It comes with WWII Colt magazine made by Risdon (Thus marked with a "R" on top of bottom lip). also in very good condition!.
No serial number under the firing plate, as expected, since they stopped this practice between serial numbers 1140000 and 1145000.
All correct small parts (Correct short hammer and stamped checkered trigger, grooved slide stop, checkered safety lock, grooved mainspring housing with 7 ribs, etc...).
Original correct Coltwood plastic stocks with mold numbers, wide rings, and strengthening ribs, in excellent condition! The action on this pistol is super crisp and it operates flawlessly! Overall, a beautiful example of a historic WWII tested Colt 1911A1!
