This is a single action, semi-automatic, blued, .45 caliber, 1911 pistol that has been accurized to improve its accuracy and ease of operation for formal competitive shooting. A Clark Custom Picatinny full length rail has been added to the slide to accept an Ultra Dot optical sight. The Ultra Dot sight has 12 brightness settings. It appears the gun was first modified to accept high profile adjustable sights. The rail is relieved around the existing front sight blade. The originally adapted STI fully adjustable rear sight is also included with the gun. The left side of the frame is stamped “X-RING” forward of the slide stop pin. The front strap is nicely stippled. The backstrap is flat and checkered. The 5-inch barrel is marked ‘Kart 45 NM’. The fitted barrel bushing is also marked Kart on its front surface. The attractive walnut grips are sharply checkered and have muted, black, vertical stripes. The steel, two-stage, 3-5/8 pound trigger is exceptionally crisp. There is also an adjustable stop for over-travel.
