This is a used Colt 1911 MKIV Series 70 Government pistol chambered in 45 ACP with a LWS (Seecamp conversion).



It features a 5-inch barrel, 7-round magazine, grip safety, thumb safety, fixed sights, wood grips, and a combo stainless/chrome finish. Overall, this Colt is in good condition. There are some light scratches on the slide and frame that may not show well in the pictures because they are light and the glare of the slide. Also, the grips have light discoloration from handling.



Serial number 70G48146. Based on Colt‚s serial lookup, this pistol was manufactured in 1973 or 1974. This would be a good choice for home defense or for collectors.



An LWS stamp on the trigger guard of a Colt Government Model Series 70 indicates a rare double-action conversion performed by L.W. Seecamp Co. in the 1970s.



Mechanical Alteration: Features an added secondary forward trigger and external connection bar on the right side of the frame to convert the single-action 1911 into a double-action-first system.



Cosmetic Changes: The side alteration is hidden by a contoured metal cover plate, and the frame/trigger guard area was modified or reshaped during the custom gunsmithing process.



Finish Integrity: Look closely at the finish. Seecamp often finished these in hard chrome.
