Offered here for sale out of a collection of many Colt 1911 auto pistols is this very fine conditioned “custom” Colt MK IV Series 80 Government Model auto pistol with custom Barstow 10MM barrel. The Colt Mk IV Series 80 Government Model 1911 is a classic semi-automatic pistol platform, originally chambered in .45 ACP. The original Colt Mk IV Series 80 Government Modelseries incorporated a .45 ACP cartridge with 5" (standard Government model barrel length). This specimen, serial Number FG68058 "FG" prefix typically denotes a stainless steel frame with the serial numbers starting with "FG" fall into the early-to-mid 1980s range. It was not originally chambered in 10mm — Colt’s Delta Elite was the first Colt production 10mm 1911, and that came out in 1987. It was finely converted to 10MM with Bar-Sto Conversion barrel. The Bar-Sto barrels are premium match-grade aftermarket barrels, often used for caliber conversions or accuracy upgrades. The custom 10mm Bar-Sto barrel installed in a Series 80 1911 is an aftermarket modification — not a factory Colt option. The conversion to 10mm may also have involved a recoil spring upgrade (heavier spring for 10mm) possibly an upgraded firing pin or extractor and a magazine swap. Therefore we sell “as is” a wonderful custom 10MM “upgrade” of this fine Colt. In excellent 98-99% condition it shows light wear (most to barrel), still excellent bore, retains all finish, proper STAINLESS 10MM 7-round magazine and images show just some streaking oil from wipe down which will clean off.
