Colt 1911 .45 ACP (C13322

Description:

Colt 1911 .45 ACP caliber pistol. U.S. Military pistol manufactured in 1917. Shipped May 29, 1917 to the commanding officer. Ordnance Department U.S. Expeditionary Force Hoboken Docks Pier 1, Hoboken New Jersey. Bore has very good rifling and some light corrosion in the grooves. Action works perfectly. Grips are good and show hand wear commensurate with the age and use of the gun. Gun has traces of blue. Metal is a light gray patina with some luster. Markings are sharp and clear. Shipping data from The Government Models by William H.D. Goddard. Neat WWI pistol shipped in 1917. It almost certainly saw action in Europe!
