Description:
1958 Colt Gold Cup National Match, the second year of production. The Gold Cup National Match is the post-war competition/target version of the 1911/Government Model. Once considered the most accurate 'out of the box' pistol available. Features included the flat top slide with angled cocking serrations, Colt-Accro adjustable rear sight, flared ejection port, NM barrel, fitted barrel bushing with conical recoil spring plug, adjustable long trigger, etc. This pistol is in excellent overall condition with some minor handling wear from minimal use. The original flat mainspring housing has been replaced with a military arched/grooved unit with lanyard loop, all else is original. There are a few very light marks in the matte surfaces and minimal wear around the magazine well. The original blue finish is about 96-97% overall. Original checkered walnut grips feature gold Colt medallions and are excellent without cracks, chips or significant wear. The mechanics are in perfect working order and the bore is excellent, as new. The magazine is period correct and shows minor finish wear. This fine pistol comes in its original National Match box that numbers to the gun and includes the original Gold Cup instruction sheet.
