Attractive, all original Colt 1911 military pistol, caliber .45 ACP, from 1918 with same-dated holster and Mills double magazine pouch. A beautiful time capsule from late WW1!

Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army pistol, manufactured in 1918, caliber .45 ACP, SN: 256006, with 5" barrel, fixed front and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked "PATENTED APR 20, 1897 SEPT 9, 1902 DEC.19,1905, FEB.14,1911 AUG.19,1913", followed by "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. / HARTFORD,CT. U.S.A.", Rampant Colt behind slide serrations. Left frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and encircled "JMG" inspection, breaking through the blue. Small "H" on back of slide above firing pin retainer. The right side of slide marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY", the frame marked "No 256006". Type 4 barrel, blued, with sideways "H P" on hood, an "O" on the right side of the lug. Fitted with checkered walnut grips, large diamonds around screws, and blued dual-tone magazine with five indicator holes and integral floorplate without lanyard loop. Original brown leather holster with oval embossed "US" on flap and stamped "SEARS / 1918 / J.N.S" on back, accompanied by khaki canvas WWI double magazine pouch with snap fasteners, internally marked "OCT 1918", "MILLS" with arrow symbol over patent dates.
Condition:
VG+ original brushed blue finish with sharp edge wear and handling, as one might expect from a pistol assembled and used during the latter part of World War I, with thinning/toning on front and backstrap, particularly the flat mainspring housing. Comparable condition grips and dual tone magazine. Near mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG holster with scuffs, oil staining; verdigris around brass rivets. Khaki Mills magazine pouch in unissued condition.
