Pristine example of a pre-war commercial 1911A1. According to the defiinitive Charles Clawson book, the pre-war commercial 1911's were the best made with closer tolerances, hand finished with more attention to detail. This pistol left the factory as a blued gun, but according to the original owner, was shipped back to Colt's to be nickle plated.
NOTE: The photo's show distorted lines of "dots" along the length of the piece...these are not flaws, they are reflections of the ceiling above when the photo's were taken. The pistol is in fact perfect without flaws.
