Attractive original finish Colt 1911A1 US military pistol with all correct parts as made/issued in 1943, complete with an original Boyd holster dated 44. A wonderful ensemble for the US military collector!

Standard configuration Colt Model 1911A1 pistol, caliber .45 ACP, as issued to the US military in 1943, SN: 1176428, parkerized, with fixed, serrated front sight and drift adjustable square notch rear sight. Left side of slide marked "PATENTED APR 20 1897 SEPT 9 1902" with additional patent dates and "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO." over "HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." Right side of frame with ordnance stamp that cuts through the parkerizing followed by "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with SN: "1176428" below and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY". Assembler "13" on right upper trigger guard web. Short hammer with borderless checkering; arched, checkered mainspring housing. GHD inspector marking on left side of frame cutting through the parkerized finish, as do the "P" proofs on top of the unnumbered slide and on the left side of frame near the push-button magazine release. Correct blued barrel with "COLT 45 AUTO" on left side of chamber and a "P" on the left side of the lug. Fitted with brown checkered grips, screw head reinforcements. Brushed blued magazine with five indicator holes and integral floorplate, inner toe marked "S". Complete with brown leather military holster with oval, encircled "US" impressed into flap and "BOYT / 44" on the reverse side, stitched with grommet reinforcements.
Condition:
VG original parkerized finish with muzzle/forward frame wear as typical for a service pistol that has been repeatedly holstered for an extended period of time. Usual scratch near slide release. Comparable condition front and backstrap, the arched mainspring housing faded where in contact with the holster flap. Near excellent grips and original finish magazine. Near mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG holster with intact stitching, scuffs and stains as imaged.
