Beautiful, all-original Colt 1911A1 blued military pistol from 1941 with matching slide, correct barrel, crisp Coltwood grips and a blued magazine.
Description:
Colt 1911A1 Military Pistol, cal .45 ACP, factory brush blued finish, made in 1941 pre/during World War II, SN: 732830, with 5" barrel, fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked "PATENTED APR 20,1897, SEPT 9,1902, DEC.19,1905, FEB.14,1911, AUG.19,1913" followed by "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG.CO" and "HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A", left frame inspected with a boxed "RS" and "P" near grips, both markings cutting through the finish. The right side of frame marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "No. 732830" and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY". Assembler 69 on trigger guard web. Fitted with correct reddish-brown "Coltrock" checkered grips with screw reinforcements. Accompanied by all-blued magazine with 5 indicator holes and "L" stamped on the inner toe. Disassembly shows a MATCHING SLIDE, the boxed RS repeated near the disconnector, and a correct barrel stamped "COLT .45 AUTO" with "P" proof mark on the left side of the lug.
Condition:
Wonderful 97-98% bright original brushed blue finish with light sharp edge wear and slight thinning over the crest of the slide on the right side. Fine, very superficial storage freckling. Comparable condition grip straps. Excellent "Coltrock" grips. VG original finish magazine with insertional wear. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics.
