Colt Mark IV Series 80 .45 ACP Excellent Condition with Original Box
Description: The Colt 1911 is perhaps the most famous semi-automatic pistol ever made having a long and successful carrier in both military and civilian use. The 1911 and its cartridge, the famous .45 ACP, were designed by John Moses Browning to fulfill a requirement by the U.S. Army for a new service pistol which would also become the first semi-automatic to be officially adopted by the U.S. Army, replacing the M1909 revolver in .45 Colt in service. The 1911 proved to be one of the most reliable and durable semi-automatic pistols ever designed, successfully serving the U.S. Armed Forces through World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. This nice pistol is a Mark IV Series 80, which according to the Coltsite, was produced in 1985. It is in excellent condition and comes with its original box. There are only three signs of wear. The first is a mark on the let side of the frame underneath the slide lock. This is a type of mark that is frequently seen on 1911s and is a result of improper reassembly of the pistol. The second is some light wear in the finish on the front strap. The third is a modest amount of finish loss on the barrel from the cycling of the slide. This is not visible when the slide is all the way forward. Otherwise, the pistol appears as it did the day it left the factory. SOLD Handgun Caliber: .45 ACP (.45 Auto) Manufacturer: Colt's PT. F.A.
