According to Clawson, Argentina took 500 off the shelf, Conneticut made, commercial 1911's and marked them upon arrival with " Republica Argentina Armada Nacional- 1941. The top of the slide had the Argentina crest added as well. This serial number falls right in the middle of the block ordered by them. It sports its original commercial blue finish which in itself is rare given most were parkerized some time after the order arrived and this commercial Colt sports the rare Swartz safety. This example retains at least 90% of that original Colt high polish commercial blue finish. Mint bore and action. All correct parts, hand checkered slide stop, thumb safety, trigger and arched main spring. Excellent correct checkered walnut grips. Gun comes with original holster, one magazine marked Colt 45 Auto(commercial ) that came with gun and two extra war time clips. With such a low production acquisition number and the amount of surviving blue examples, this is a superb all original example and a must have in every serious Colt 1911 collection.
