USGI Colt Model 1911 .45 ACP Semi-Auto Pistol WWI 1918 WWII Refurb Scarce D54 Marked

Description:
Gun retains 90% of the arsenal parkerized type refinish. The gun was originally made for WWI in 1918 and was subsequently arsenal refurbished for issuance during WWII. All markings are clear and sharp. Fine Bakelite grips, both have a K in a star and the left one has a 7 and the right one has a 9. High Standard WWII era replacement barrel with fine bore, sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. The slide has D 54 stamped on it, this mark has been found on other 1911's and 1911A1's, however the exact meaning seems to remain a mystery amongst Colt collectors. Some have speculated that it's a ship number, however this theory does not seem to hold much weight. Other variations with the D and number combination are known, all with the last digit being a 4. Gun comes with one standard blued WWII era magazine with an L on the top of the lip. It's very difficult to get the slide stop lever out. Serial number is 533303

ALL FIREARMS, REGARDLESS OF AGE OR FEDERAL ANTIQUE STATUS have to be shipped to a dealer for transfer within NY. Other states are fine, depending on your state laws. We will not ship to a New York, NJ, or CA C&R holder, a standard FFL is required.  There are some states in which a C&R handgun MUST be shipped to a dealer, such as MD. Please know your local laws.
