COLT 1911A1 1937 MINT RESTORED

Description:
Colt 1911A1 Manufactured in 1937. One of only 2349 that was purchased by the government that year. Serial Number 711520. Some of these early 37's went to the Army and Navy both. Considered THE HOLY GRAIL of Colt 1911A1's along with the 1938's. I have seen a few restored 1937's and this one is by far the BEST. It would fool many collectors. It is my opinion that this pistol has been restored. The few people that have seen it,question my thoughts.Actually it did fool one of the most knowledgeable experts in the 1911 field. Don't know who restored it but, it's fantastic and very convincing. Correct orignal finish barrel has a P on the left lug and an S in front of lug, along with Colt 45 auto on left side. Bore has strong rifling along with some frosting. Slide and frame numbers are original. I believe all small parts are original finish, including the clip. Only the slide and frame have been restored . When I say restored I mean refinished only. Slide address and all numbers are original and perfect. Why it was done I cannot tell you. Grips are perfect older repacements with correct 28 rows.  You can be proud of this gun in your collection at less than half the price of an original if you can find one. Maybe 10 -15 % of the 2349 have survived. They are scarce! Please call 973-214-3407 with questions. Thanks
