Standard configuration Service Model Colt Ace Pistol with floating chamber (SN: SM 7279, Cal. .22LR), parkerized, with serrated ramp front sight and fully adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide with two line Colt address followed by the Rampant Colt. Right side of slide marked "Colt SERVICE/MODEL ‘’ .22 LONG/RIFLE". Full serial number on right frame under “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and inspector number “66” on upper trigger guard web. Fitted with uniformly checkered brown plastic grips w/ screw reinforcements. Blued magazine marked “Colt/ 22 ACE L.R./SERVICE MODEL” on the fixed floorplate. Complete with generic craft box, pistol details on end label. Factory letter showing shipment to Naval Supply Depot on June 14, 1945.
Condition:
Excellent as partial restoration, the slide excellent with original finish; the frame, slide release, and a few other small parts near excellent as reparkerized. The United States Property marking and serial number of questionable authenticity. Excellent original grips and blued magazine. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. EXC craft box and factory letter. NOTE: Regardless of factory letter, pistol is being sold as a restoration of dubious originality.
