Colt model 1855 side hammer revolver 2nd model better known as the "Colt Root" model.Built in 1856,this pistol retains 70% of the original blue finish.The pistol is 28 caliber and has a good bore.The hammer retains most of its case color and is tight and fully functional.The original ivory grips are still well fitted and have yellowed with age.The gun is missing the hammer screw which I am working on finding a proper replacement now.Otherwise,the gun is in remarkable condition.It comes with and old leather holster.A very collectible Colt in outstanding condition.Classified as an antique so it can be shipped direct with proper ID.
