Colt Single Action Army 1st Generation .44-40 mfg 1876

Here's your chance to get your hands on one of the earlier model Colt Single Action Army 44-40 born in the Centenial year of 1876.  The stories this 146 year old gun could tell would be amazing.  This gun does show signs that through out it's life it has had some alterations, which was not uncommon for these older 1st generations.   As you can see in the pictures this gun does show signs of wear but again for being 146 years old it still shows a strong Nickel polish, probably refinished at a later time.  SN 22170 stamped on the frame and all the parts on the gun have identical assembly number of 99, the butt of the gun does not show a SN likely due to being refinished, wear and polishing.  I took pictures of all the stamped matching numbers.  This one has a 5 1/4" Barrel.  During function testing the cylinder does rotate and stops on 1st click safety, rotates on 2nd half click for loading,  3rd click is sound and 4th click all the way back it stops.  It will with pressure put on the cylinder rotate forward and holds firm and does not rotate backwards.  A replacement bolt and tune up would probably help it hold firmer, sear and bolt spring have been replaced and so has the main spring.  The hammer does not appear original but I am no expert on this type of gun so do your own research with the information given and the pictures.  Holster is included and I would estimate it will go up to a 32" waist.  This is an interesting one so if anyone has feedback with any knowledge on it feel free to message me.  $55 shipping and 3.5% Credit Card fees.  Buy now pays no shipping or credit card fees.  We will always consider offers but this one is priced right so delaying with an offer you might lose out.
