Colt Single Action Army 45
Description:
Offered is a very nice 1st generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver in 45 Colt. The gun is a very fine example of the Colt revolvers issued to the US Army and then later retlurned to Colt as and sold as Army Surplus Stock. The guns were disassembled and inspected. Many of the standard 7 1/2" barrels were replaced with shorter 4 3/4, 5 or 5 1/2" barrels.
The serial numbers on this gun are mixed as no great attention was paid to serial numbers in this process.
The gun was refinished in Nickel either then or at a later date as evidenced by the small areas of light pitting under the nickel finish in some areas where it would have been hard to remove. The current finish is smooth, bright and shows no flaking or abrading. The inscript;ion on the top of the barrel is faint, but the bore is strong with only small areas of pitting toward the end. The grips are in very good condition with the Colt insignia at the top of each side. lMechanically the gun is perfect with 4 clicks.
This is a real nice example of the early Army issued Colts in the most popular caliber. It will make a fine addition to any Colt colledtion and a nice gun for Cowboy Competion.
