Description: Serial # 5856ETO Single action .45ACP semiautomatic with detachable magazine and 5" barrel. Commemorates the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters in World War II. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Polished nickel finish. Smooth burl maple hardwood grip panels decorated with Colt gold medallions. FEATURES: Blade front sight. Dovetailed u-notch rear sight and knurled hammer. Beavertail grip safety. Lanyard ring at bottom of grip. Left side of slide engraved with leaf scroll work encompassing the phrase "WORLD WAR II COMMEMORATIVE / EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS". Right side of slide engraved with leaf scroll work encompassing the phrase "NORTH ATLANTIC * TUNISIA * SICILY * PLOESTI * SALERNO * ANZIO * NORMANDY * BASTOGNE * PEMAGEN * BERLIN". Serial number, manufacturer, and address stamped on right side of frame. Pistol comes with one magazine and is mounted in a lavender felt lined oak display case with glass window and drawer with lock and key. Presentation box dimensions are 4.25"H X 12.5"W X 9.0"D. The inside top of the display box cover depicts the conference at Rheims - May 7, 1945 and lists the countries involved. The inside of the felt lined drawer is decorated with seven .45 caliber chromed dummy rounds in wood slots and a rectangular plaque labeled, "WORLD WAR II COMMEMORATVE / EURPOEAN-AFRICAN / MIDDLE EASTERN THEATER / DECEMBER 11,1941 - MAY 7,1945". This pistol remains unfired since being shipped in 1970 and is one of only 11,500 produced. Condition is excellent 99/100, ANIB. Buyer pays $40.00 S&H via UPS insured.
