Description:
Produced from 1970 to 1983, this pistol was manufactured in 1981, which according to the factory letter was housed as a "display piece and sample of special edition kept by the Colt factory", and to be placed in the archives. Features fixed front and Elliason adjustable rear sights on a serrated raised rib sighting plane with a serrated spur hammer and trigger with adjustable stop, 7-shot magazine, serrated front and rear grip straps and checkered walnut grips with gold-plated rampant Colt medallion inlays on both sides. The right side of the slide features gold etching and is marked, "By Act Of Congress/1903 -1978" and "75th ANNIVERSARY/CAMP PERRY. OHIO" inside a banner framed by floral scroll gold etching. The right side of the slide is similarly marked within a gold etched banner surround by floral scroll engraving, "1 of 200" next to the image of a distinguished rifleman medal and "NATIONAL MATCHES/SPECIAL EDITION" followed by a circular seal marked, "NATIONAL BOARD/FOR THE PROMOTION OF RIFLE PRACTICE". Complete with Colt factory wood grain box, original factory letter, yellow warning hanging tag, blued bushing wrench, papers/manual, Colt order/packing list, wooden maroon velour fitted display case with skeleton key and National Match 75th Anniversary brass plaque, along with one additional National Match engraved plaque portraying the scene of two marksmen at the shooting range. .45 Auto
