Early models, manufactured before 1899, typically feature a "COLT" barrel marking, finely lettered with serifs, as on this example. Designed for discreet personal defense, this derringer remained popular through the early 20th century, valued for its powerful .41 rimfire chambering and easily concealable design.

Condition:

VG/EXC with thinning and handling marks as one would expect from a vest pocket pistol that has been carried. Bright bore, with easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics.
