FACTORY CASED Matched Set of COLT Fourth Model .22 Short Modern DERINGERS
CONSECUTIVELY NUMBERED “19814D & 19815D”
Description: FACTORY CASED Matched Set of COLT Fourth Model .22 Short Modern DERINGERS CONSECUTIVELY NUMBERED “19814D & 19815D” Here we present a Modern Cased Matched Set of Colt Fourth Model Deringers made in the early to mid-1970s in Hartford, Connecticut. These Colt Fourth Model Deringers are designed to mimic the Thuer-designed models. Though, Colt actually didn’t make these pistols. Their name may grace the top of the barrels, and they were made in New Haven, Connecticut, but they weren’t true Colts. A company called Butler produced these pistols for Colt. Butler would later go on to produce these revolvers under their own name after Colt stopped offering them. Sometimes they were sold as pairs, as is this set, and even in fours with sequential serial numbers in velvet lined wooden boxes. These made great displays that were also functional and capable. The first series was made from 1959 to 1963, and over 110,000 guns were produced. A second series, as are these pistols, ran from 1970 to 1973, with 25,000 more produced. These examples were made in the second series according to the D suffix at the end of the serial number. Loading requires the gun to be half-cocked, then the barrel pivots sideways to open the chamber. Load your single little .22 Short cartridge and pivot the barrel back in place. To fire the weapon, you fully cock the hammer and pull the small spur of a trigger. The overall condition of both examples is excellent. Robust action. Bright bores. Fine grips. Sharp markings. The included case is very good. This firearm is classified as Modern. Barrels are 2-1/2 inches. Caliber: .22 Short Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL. This firearm is classified as Modern. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #230429 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
