Description:
Standard configuration Colt Model 1902 Military Model pistol, made 1919, cal. .38 Auto, with fixed blade front sight and drift adjustable curved U-notch rear sight. Two line patent reference and address on the left side of slide over the full SN on the frame. Rampant Colt on the rear of the left side of slide past the serrations. Right side of the slide two line model and caliber information. Flat, color case hardened spur hammer. Black hard rubber grips with bordered checkering with “COLT”, encircled Rampant Colt, as well as escutcheons around the screw holes. Color case hardened lanyard ring. Complete with blued magazine with seven indicator holes and the floorplate marked “MIL/COLT/38 CAL”.
Condition:
Bright 96-97% original pre-war Colt blue with minor sharp edge wear, thinning, and handling marks on the straps, particularly the backstrap. Comparable condition color case hardened hammer and lanyard ring. Grips with minimally blunted checkering. VG+ magazine with insertional wear, oxidative freckling on the left side as imaged. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. A very attractive, high original condition Colt 1902 Military Model pistol as manufactured in 1919.
