Early Model COLT 1902 Sporting auto pistol 38 acp
Mfg'd 1903 serial number 5781 - very early as starting serial number for the Sportings was 4274.
Continuation of serial numbers from the Model 1900 #1 to #4273, and virtually the same as the 1900.
One of only 6900 Sporting models manufactured.
Matching slide serialed #5781
Rare early varuaition in decent condition.
Forward plunge milled serrations as were the first 3000 produced from about #4274 to #8000
3 line slide markings - rare onlly about 2500 were marked with the 3 line from about serial #5000 to #7500
Round hammer which were used only on the odd serial numbered pistols only from #4274 to # 7000
Rare nickel mag with patent dated base
Functions as it should
