High original condition Colt Commander Lightweight pistol cal. .45ACP, manufactured in 1976, SN: CLW024458, with fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked "COMMANDER" MODEL" with "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER .45" followed by the rampant Colt logo. The right side of slide is stamped "COLTS PT. F. A MFG CO. HARTFORD CONN. U. S. A" with serial number "CLW024458" on the frame below the slide. Fitted with smooth walnut grips secured with Colt medallions on each panel, secured with standard slotted screws. Blued magazine with 5 cartridge indicator holes on side marked "COLT .45 AUTO." on fixed floorplate. Complete with matching box, likely a reproduction, with appropriate reprinted literature to include hanging tag. A classic pistol representing Colt's post-war effort to find a lighter replacement for the M1911 pistol.
Condition:
Bright 98-99% original blue/black anodized finish with wear largely limited to operational scuffing on the nose of the slide and a few very light scuffs on the front / backstrap. Light staining on either side of the brightly polished hammer. Comparable condition grips and magazine that shows insertional wear. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. EXC box, styrofoam inserts, and associated literature.
