Colt Model 1911 .45 ACP Pistol Early Production Frame
Description:
For sale is an early Colt Model 1911 U.S. Property .45 ACP with serial number 13694. This pistol was manufactured in late 1912, making the frame a genuine early-production example from the first full year of military 1911 contracts. Key Features:
Frame: Serial #13694 with correct early “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” marking
Slide: Marked with full early patent dates (up to Aug. 19, 1913) and rampant Colt pony. Note: The pony placement is more typical of slightly later production, indicating this is likely a period replacement slide from a military rearsenal/refurbishment (very common on these early 1911s)
Grips: Checkered walnut military grips
Finish: Dark Parkerized finish with honest wear and age-appropriate patina
This is a real early Colt 1911 that clearly saw military service and was later refurbished — a common fate for pistols from this era. The frame is in the desirable low 13xxx serial range, while the slide appears to be a correct-era replacement, which is standard for veteran 1911s of this age.
These early Colts are increasingly hard to find and make excellent shooter-grade historical pieces. A great addition for any 1911 or U.S. military collector. Note: No paperwork included. Sold as-is in used condition with normal wear for a 110+ year old service pistol. It does include 1 magazine however,
