Colt’s Smallest Semi-Auto with GOLD HIGHLIGHTS
Here we present a Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket Pistol, made in 1912 in Hartford, Connecticut. This was another John Moses Browning design, and it was Colt’s smallest semi-automatic pistol offering. It was marketed as a small concealable firearm which could be easily tucked into a vest pocket for unobtrusive carry. It is chambered for 6 shots of .25 ACP. At the end of the production run, an improved redesign became the Baby Browning, which is still in production today. This one was made in the second year of production and would have been carried during the Roaring Twenties and well beyond!
As mentioned above, this pistol was manufactured in 1912 and later engraved with full coverage floral scroll on a punch dot background and gold-plated barrel and small parts. This example comes with a modern display case and a green leather ankle holster.
The overall condition is very fine. The action is robust all around. The bore is bright. This example can be displayed from any angle with its vibrant finish and well-defined engravings!
