Up for sale is a gorgeous Colt SAA from the Custom Shop. Exquisitely gold inlaid by Howard Dove, signed underneat the left grip. Factory checkered ivories and Mirror Blue finish, one of 100 produced in the early 1980s, one for each state and capital city. Technically 1 of 1 being the only Virginia state gun. Factory letter is ordered and will be added to the listing once received!

Don Wilkerson gives a pretty good description on page 298 of his book "The Post-War Colt Single-Action Army Revolver 1976-1986". They were inlaid with gold and had checkered real ivory grips. Wilkerson says the work was done by Colt Master Engravers. The retail price at the time was $4995, which was a LOT of money for a gun in 1984.
