USMC 1918 Colt Model 1911 - With Factory Letter
Description: This is a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US Marine Corps in 1918. This gun's serial number will not be in Clawson's range for these guns, but the consignor ordered a Colt Factory letter that confirms this gun was delivered to the Marine Corps Storehouse in Philadelphia, PA on December 14, 1918 along with 3,000 other guns. It has a replaced serrated trigger and an earlier WWI "H P" barrel. The gun's original finish rates roughly 70% with obvious thinning and light brown "attic patina" throughout. There is a series of small dings on the left slide serrations. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a modern Colt magazine. The bore has good rifling with just light pin-pricking throughout. Curio/Relic: Yes Handgun Caliber: .45 ACP (.45 Auto) Price: $5,995.00 Contact Seller |
