Very ealry Colt .22 "Pre Woodsman" pistol in .22LR. 6 inch barrel overall excellent condition for it's age, retaining 85% or more of it's original blue finish with correct two tone magazine. Production started in 1915 for these pistols. The Colt Woodsman is a semi-automatic sporting pistol manufactured by the U.S. Colt's Manufacturing Company from 1915 to 1977. It was designed by John Moses Browning. The frame design changed over time, in three distinct series: series one being 1915–1941, series two being 1947–1955, and series three being 1955–1977.
This pistol is a first series and is a so called "Pre Woodsman" as the names name and logo was not used by Colt's until 1927.
