Colt Civil War Commemorative Pistols Set 22 short Mfg 1961
Description: Colt Civil War Centennial Pistol Set
These collectible commemorative firearms have the appearance of a Colt 1860 Percussion Revolver but are single-shot in their function. A 6" barrel is made from blued steel, as is the cylinder. The Civil War Centennial's frame is highly polished brass, silver backstrap with smooth wood grips.
Very early production, four digit consecutive serial numbers 127xW. Pistols have probably never been fired and come with the original presentation case.
The cylinder only of one revolver has lost much of its blue on one side only - and has some surface freckling that can be removed with xxxx bronze wool and oil.
The other pistol has a little blue loss also on its cylinder but limited to the front edge of the cylinder.
Some freckling is present on both hammers - see pictures and should be easy to remove.
Display case has some scuffs, fading and rubs but will look much better with a gentle cleaning and conditioning.
These pistols have been stored away for 50+ years - all we have done is wiped them down with WD-40.
"The Colt Civil war centennial pistol set was produced for presentation but has the ability to be taken apart and a single 22 short shell can be used and shot. The cylinders on this set is only compatable for 1 round, all the other cylinder holes are not completely machined. The push rod does not function and is a part of the frame."
