Gun shows little use or handling.  It is in virtually "like new" condition.   Also included in this sale are a prototype hoster from renouned leather maker, Lou Alessi and a new Wilson 8 round magazine with a low profile aluminum base pad.   The holster shows a little wear and was a collaboration between Burns and Alessi of which there were several.  The prototypes were all hand sewn by Lou Alessi.   I don't know if this holster ever became a production item.   Three of the best in the 1911 world, from the turn of the last Century, involved with this gun.  I was told this was Burns' personal "scalloped" gun from Richard Hienie, that was built in concert with the BCP shop.  Three of those scalloped guns were also prize table guns, presented over three different years to Heinie's Single Stack Match in that same time frame.   If you have any questions, I'll answer as best as I can. $3500, OBO.

On this Nowlin frame, Dick Hiene did the scalloped metal work and and I built it up as a 5" gun.  It is the last gun Dick Heinie did the metal work on for me.

Right after Dick started doing the scallop mill work, he invited me to donate the first of what became 3 or 4 guns to his Single Stack match several consecutive years running. I don't remember now if Dick first offered or I asked to have him do the scalloping, either way it got done and some of the early guns went on the Heinie Single Stack prize table.Dick did salloping on a couple dozen frames for me while I was building guns for customers BCP.

I always liked the scallop texture, having never been a big fan of checkering because it is so fragile in actual use as a professional's carry gun on the street.  I much preferred scallops, the Wave or lastly, simple serrations.  

When I retired in 2013 I tried to hang onto a few guns that meant something to me professionally. That ended up being one gun from every "package" I built or would be recognised as a BCP "model".  Nowlin #NM002142 is my personal scalloped gun from 
that small collection.  

It was built to my personal specs from the get go. The gun intentionally didn't get used past test firing for reliability and shooting groups at 25 yards.
