Wichita Arms Break-over Pistol in caliber 7mm Int-R
Description: Couple questions I have been asked... 1) Is it a heavy handgun weightwise? A - Yes, something in the area of 5 pounds. But this weight does keep the recoil down with heavier loads, 2) Is it uncomfortable to shoot? A - Not too bad. I recently shot a S&W 500 mag and that was not comfortable...even for this old boy who loves .44 mags, 3) How best to shoot this Wichita handgun? A - Given its weight, I have always used both hands when shooting offhand. I've also handloaded it to less than max loads. While I have shot it with one hand, holding its weight at arms length starts to wear...at least for me... Few have one... It's fun to shoot, accurate, easy to reload and not expensive...and with what I have learned, ammunition is available commercially...Last pic is of three, three shot groups at 25 yards offhand, shot by me today 12 September. I went with a new powder and readjusted my sights as my normal powder was not available at the local Cabelas. For me with 77 year old eyes, I thought pretty good. Imagine what you could do! The barrel indicates 7mm int-r...But from my fire-forming shooting, I end up with brass that measures as 7-30 Waters...made from the same 30-30 brass. I acquired and use 7-30 Waters dies and suspect 1) the handgun was either mismarked at the factory, or 2) a subsequent owner had the breech modified slightly to 7-30 Waters. Emails between me and the new owner of Wichita Arms were unable to substantiate either, but I bought 7-30 Waters dies and have fired the gun repeatedly with good results. I'll also toss in the dies at the $550 purchase price. Need a video of me shooting it?? Happy to oblige. Condition is very good. If it didn't have a few dings in the wood, I'd call it excellent. The holster is included and it is heavy and indestructable. The previous owner put some loading data on the back side of the holster, a load that I have not tried. But that Winchester 748 powder was what I was unsuccessfully looking for. I'll need an FFL from you and we can discuss shipping cost when I find where it's going and if you want the dies. My guess is that shipping and insurance will be in the $60 range... If you are a Missouri resident, pick it up and save all shipping cost or we can go to a local FFL if you are out of state and only cost you $20. I live a bit north of Kansas City, Missouri. I'd prefer a US Postal Money Order, but will take a personal check as long as you understand that it may take as long as 10 days for it to clear. Questions?? Send me an email with your phone number and the best time for me to call you. Rob Kornacki US Army (Retired) Handgun Caliber: 7mm Int-R Price: $550.00 Contact Seller |
