As such, it bears more than a passing resemblance to that pistol. However, the 75 is by no means a copy of the High Power and is a great design in its own right. One if the 75’s standout features is its excellent ergonomics. The pistol simply feels “right” in the hand, as if it does not belong anywhere else. This is part of the reason for the pistol’s widespread popularity. Indeed, its popularity has resulted in it being one of the most copied handguns in the world save for the 1911. The 75 shown here is the famous SP-01 model. It has a 4.6” hammer-forged barrel, 3-dot sights, and a manual safety lever. The most notable difference between the standard CZ 75 and SP-01 is the latter’s frame which features a railed dust cover for the mounting of a laser or flashlight. The redistribution of mass provided by the rail makes the SP-01 a bit more nose-heavy, which reduces the felt recoil and allows for faster target acquisition. The SP-01 frame also utilizes an extended beavertail to protect the shooter’s hands. This feature allows for a deeper and more secure grip as well. This new-in-box pistol comes with its box, manual, and two 19-round magazines. Cajun Gun Works produces a trigger kit known as the SRS-2, where “SRS” stands for Short Reset System, that significantly improves the feel of the SP-01’s trigger. The item’s SKU is literally “SRS-2”. Cajun Gun Works also produces an IDPA Production Legal trigger set for both the manual safety (SKU: 75115) and de-cocker (SKU: 75215) versions of the SP-01. Both sets include the necessary internal parts, a hammer, and a combat trigger.
