Allen and Thurber D.A. Bar Hammer Boot Pistol for sale
In the pictures we tried to get as close as possible and show every makers mark, cartouche and stamp, flaw, ding and imperfection we could find.
This single shot D.A. Bar Hammer Percussion pistol was made by Allen & Thurber. Made c. 1830’s through the 1860’s. The 36 caliber barrel is 4 inches long. The barrel is of the screw-off type, allowing for breach-loading, the half round half octagon barrel. It has wood (Walnut I think) grips and is marked with the serial number 729 (Serial number match as shown in the pictures).
The pistol is rusty and non-functional as is, sold as an antique collector’s item ONLY. The wood is in fine condition although the grips do NOT look original and are probably after the fact. I did NOT try to reconnect the hammer spring. Also did not try to remove the barrel for the pictures.
The pictures show condition as best we can. We tried to get pictures of every flaw, mark, ding, makers mark or whatever we could find. We can only post 25. If you want more, please email. Just be patient as our internet connection in the country is slow.
The item you see in the pictures is the one you receive.
Look closely at the pictures as what you see in what you get.
This came from the estate of an FFL/SOT Gun Smith, Gun Store that is out of business. This is or was inventory. The estate also was an avid collector of all types. Please check the pictures to check condition. There will be countless other listings from this inventory over the next 4 to 5 years. We are selling for the store. This is NOT a liquidation. There are no lists and will be no lists. Just keep checking the other listings
Please check our other listings for the items.
As is means AS IS. There is no refund
