Engraved American Arms Co. Double Barrel Deringer Pistol
Description:
Serial #675, .32 RF over .22 RF, 3” barrels with fine, bright bores. This is a handsome little pistol that retains 80-85% of the original bright blue on the barrels with some minor silvering and fading along the hard edges and some scattered minor impact marks as well. The frame has a mostly dull ochre-yellow patina with about 20-30% of the original silver finish remaining, mostly along the gripstraps and within the protected areas of the New York style floral scrollwork engraving that decorates both sides of the frame. There is some further engraving at the heel of the butt and the rosewood grips, which are numbered to the gun on the interior and have their original piano varnish finish remaining, exhibit some minor handling marks and a single with-the-grain crack on the left panel at the screw bolster. The barrel lock-up is still tight and firm while the action functions flawlessly. This is a splendid example of a rarely seen, engraved American Arms deringer in excellent condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. Antique
