ENGRAVED Antique MOORE’S PATENT FIREARMS Co. Number 1 .41 Caliber DERINGER
RARE, Fine & Beautifully Engraved CIVIL WAR Era Pistol
Description: ENGRAVED Antique MOORE’S PATENT FIREARMS Co. Number 1 .41 Caliber DERINGER RARE, Fine & Beautifully Engraved CIVIL WAR Era Pistol Here we present an antique Moore’s Patent Firearms Company No. 1 Deringer, also known as the All Metal No. 1, made circa 1862 in Brooklyn, New York with a production run between 1860 and 1865. Only about 10,000 of these were made by Moore’s Mfg. Co. before the company was purchased or absorbed into National Arms Company. This scarce little deringer is chambered for a single shot of .41 rimfire. The entire barrel swivels on a hinge for loading, when the hammer is put into half cock and the release button is pushed. The hammer is split or forked and acts as the rear sight when in full cock. These pistols are of all metal construction and silver plated. It is of historical firearms significance in that it was the first large caliber metallic cartridge deringer. In fact, after Moore’s was purchased by the National Arms Co., the Colt Firearms Co. bought National Arms and started making the pistol in 1870! The overall condition is good. Strong action (the barrel swivels at leisure and does not lockup) Good bore with thinned rifling. Lightly engraved barrel and frame. The checkering around the grip has remained fairly sharp. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-1/2 inches. Caliber: .41 rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1500 #210696 SOLD Antique: Yes |
