Very fine pair made by Aston of Manchester. Approximately 1790-1810 manufacture. The bores are remarkably bright and are .65 caliber. Barrel lengths are 10"" and overall lengths are 15"". Locks have sliding safeties and lockplate is marked ""Aston"". Top flat of barrel is marked ""Manchester"". Note that on both pistols ""Manchester"" lettering is thin. Barrels have even extremely fine pitting. Stocks are excellent on both pistols and have black horn nose caps. Case is mahogany and is in very good plus condition and has recessed hook latches. Case lid has a rectangular brass plaque with no initials on crest. Case has the Aston trade label which is soiled from many years exposed to oils and residue from use. An attractive cased flintlock!
