32900 PAIR OF FINE FRENCH FLINTLOCK KUBUR HOLSTER PISTOLS MADE FOR OTTOMAN TRADE, CIRCA 1770-80.
Description: 32900 PAIR OF FINE FRENCH FLINTLOCK KUBUR HOLSTER PISTOLS MADE FOR OTTOMAN TRADE, CIRCA 1770-80. .62 caliber 12.5" octagon to round barrels with false Spanish touchmarks (penzones) at the breech. Also stamped on the top flats "BRTNDRRTNTDS" a typical Turkish mark added after manufacture to identify the pistol as of European manufacture. Fine silver mounts with particularly ornate sideplates. Silver Louis XIV style buttcaps with stirrups. Early for, convex lockplates of banana shape with nicely formed cocks and fizzens. French walnut stocks carved in the Eastern manner.
