This Devisme a Paris dueling parlor guns refer to the exquisite percussion dueling pistols crafted by the renowned 19th century French gunsmith, Jean-Louis-Francois Devisme (active circa 1830s to1880s) whose workshop in Paris produced some of the era's most artistically refined firearms. These high-end, often cased pairs feature octagonal rifled barrels ( typically 9-10") elaborate floral scroll engraving, gold or silver inlays bearing the signature "Devisme a Paris", finely carved stocks (frequently ebony, as this one is), and ornate silver mounts and intricate scrollwork. This set of pistols comes with a display box and is in very good condition.
