Guns International #: 101716101
Seller's Inventory #: PR54791
This is a very early 9mm 1908 DWM military Luger, serial number 926. It has approx. 90% blue with wear on high spots and a small area of light pitting on the left side. The straw parts are bright but fading. It has the distinctive crown over CF proofs of this model. The bore is fine with light firing erosion. It is numbered in the commercial manner and all numbered parts except the wood base tinned magazine (number 8309) match. The grips are not numbered. It is stamped on top of the toggle with the DWM logo and the chamber is correctly blank. The Imperial proofs and a military acceptance mark appear on the left side of the receiver. Other military acceptance marks are located on the left side of the barrel and breech bolt. It is unit marked on the front grip strap 171 R.M.G.11. We believe this stands for the 171st Infantry Regiment, Machine Gun Section, gun number 11. The grips show some wear and handling though the checkering remains well defined. The action functions correctly. This is a nice example of the scarce 1908 military Luger, most of which were lost during WWI.
