This 9mm Model 1914 military Luger was made by DWM in 1915. The 1914 military P.08 Luger pistol can be identified by six features: 1. Scroll DWM on the toggle, 2. The four digit year (1913-1918) above the chamber, 3. The stock lug, 4. The 4-inch barrel, 5. No commercial proof marks, and 6. No signs of rework. This pistol has the DWM scroll logo on the toggle, is dated 1915 over the chamber, has a stock lug and 4-inch barrel, has military proof marks, and has not been reworked. The gun has approx. 92% blue with some areas of fading and freckling. The straw parts have approx. 50% color. The bore is fine with light frosting in the grooves. The grips are very good with light wear. With the exception of a correct type nonmatching magazine and unnumbered sideplate, ALL parts including the grips and firing pin match. The front grip strap is marked 1.G.R.M.G.10.(1st Grenadier Regiment, Machine Gun Section, Gun 10). The action functions correctly. These early WWI Luger pistols are hard to locate as many were lost in battle. This is a very nice specimen, especially with the neat unit markings!
