Description: 1916 DWM LUGER P.08 9mm PISTOL Germany Great War WWI Heer Georg Berlin C&R World War 1 German Army Sidearm Here we present a C&R World War I Dated German DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) Pistole Parabellum P.08 Military Luger Pistol, made in 1916 in Berlin, Germany. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical and productive fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with being carried by German troops during both World Wars and is perhaps the most associated with those events. The top of the chamber is Great War dated “1916”. This pistol is a nice example of a mid-World War I German Luger manufactured by DWM in 1916. The right side of the barrel extension has the three “Crown/Script” Imperial German Military proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The overall condition is good. Refinished. Strong action. The bore is in good condition with good rifling. Both grips are good with light handling wear and nice checkering. Number match. The included reproduction leather holster is in good shape.
