It exhibits the following early characteristics: 1st variation checkered thumb safety, narrow trigger, narrow grip safety, flush sideplate, flat spring extractor, flat and recessed breech block, and dished toggles with toggle lock. All numbered components match, including grips. As appropriate for this model, the side plate is unnumbered. Correct metal disk-inset magazine is not numbered. The magazine has the later, rimmed loading button for which the frame is correspondingly relieved. Markings consist of the Swiss cross within sunburst crest, DWM monogram, the cross over V Swiss proof control mark of Herr Vogelsang, miniature Swiss cross proofs of Federal Arms Factory, Bern on frame, barrel, barrel extension, and toggle.
