DWM P.08 Luger Early Commercial 1900 Non-export
Description: This is an excellent, original example of a desirable, early-production, DWM Model 1900 Commercial Luger pistol. These pistols were the true first commercial contract Luger pistols produced by DWM and can be found in the 2000-19000 serial number range, with this specific pistol being a later production pistol. These pistols were specifically intended for sales in the U.S. market, and many are marked with "Germany" on the front of the frame. However, this one does not have that mark. This pistol has all the early desirable Luger features, such as the early, long frame with the Crown over B/U proofs, dished toggles with a toggle lock on the right side, a recessed breech block, a 4-3/4" fast-tapered barrel, a grip safety and no stock lug. This specific pistol was not fitted with the hold-open device seen in later pistols. They had superb, hand-fitted parts with the pre-war high polish rust blue finish with the straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips. The lower safety area is unmarked and left with the bright polished finish. It is correctly serial numbered in the commercial fashion with the serial number under the barrel and on the front of the frame. It is complete with one original magazine with the nickel plated body and the unnumbered wooden base. The grips are correctly serial numbered to the gun. This is a very difficult gun to find in high condition that has never been modified nor import/exported.
