1951 Vintage FN High Power 9mm Pistol w/ 2 Matching Serial-Numbered Factory Mags
** Superb Condition & 100% Original **
Description: This is a spectacular all-original post-war FN High Power pistol in 9mm Luger complete with two serial-numbered factory magazines. The FN High Power is one of the all-time classic semi-automatic pistols in 9mm designed by John Browning. Used by both militaries and civilians all over the world since it's inception in 1935, the High Power is a superb weapon in every respect. Well-made, durable, reliable, and with a high capacity magazine, the High Power was one of the best handguns of World War 2 and was prized by soldiers from every side. After WW2 ended the High Power immediately went back into production in Belgium and was sold all over the world under the FN name. By 1954 the High Power was imported into the States under the Browning Arms Company name and remained in production all the way until 2017. Today these pistols are sought-after by collectors and shooters alike, and with the numerous variations produced during it's long production run a collector could stay busy for years trying to acquire them all. This particular FN High Power was manufactured in 1951 and is in like-new condition, having spent it's entire life in a collection after having two magazines test fired thru it by the original owner. For all intents and purposes it is a new gun! These 1950's guns are prized for their excellent fit and finish and this one is no exception. The factory gloss blue finish is bright and beautiful, rating 98%. The only deductions come from just the slightest touch of finish wear on a couple of the high edges and some very tiny handling marks only visible under close inspection. As you can see from the pictures, this pistol is extremely handsome and looks like-new. All of the factory markings are crisp and legible, and all of the proof stamps are squarely struck. The front and rear grip straps are usually the first place to show wear and they are perfect on this gun. The polished in-the-white factory barrel in this High Power has a mirror-bright perfect bore, showing perfect, sharp rifling and ZERO wear or imperfections. The exposed chamber area of the barrel is bright and clean with perfect markings, showing only the slightest runner marks from the metal to metal contact that occurs when the slide is worked. The muzzle end of the barrel shows only a light wear ring where it rests within the slide, with the balance of the barrel's exterior bright and clean. The original grips on this FN are in superb condition as well, with both sides free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear. Both grip panels have sharp and clean checkering, and both grips have fully intact red paint on the reverse (as-is correct from factory). Both grip screws have excellent slots and both grips are tight to the grip frame with no wiggle. As mentioned before, this High Power comes with two factory original 14-round magazines, both with a factory-applied electro-penciled matching serial number on the lower spine. Both magazines are stamped with a boxed "2" proof on them and they are in perfect working order with strong follower springs and perfect feed lips. The internals of this High Power are just as pristine as the exterior and completely free from any visible wear. The action on this pistol is extremely smooth and slick, and the slide-to-frame fitment is excellent. The barrel lock-up when it battery is flawless with no slop or play in it. All of the controls on this pistol are like-new and crisp; in perfect working order. There is no doubt that this FN will function just as well today as the day it left the factory 70 years ago. If you have been looking for the ultimate post-war FN High Power 9mm pistol for your collection here it is. It would be all but impossible to upgrade from this beauty in ANY respect.
