The FN/Browning HiPower pistol was commissioned by the French government as an upgrade to their carry pistol armament. The pistol is a John Browning design and has the distinction of serving both sides of many wars. The Browning production ended in Europe with the takeover of the FN factory by the German Army. This is an example of the German war production having clear wassenampts. It shows the lack of 'polish' placed up firearms for military use as there are many tool marks on the pistol. All visible s/n's match. 9mm Luger
