The FN 509 Tactical is a full-sized, combat-ready handgun built on the proven FN 509 platform, designed to meet the rigorous standards of military, law enforcement, and high-performance civilian shooters. Developed as part of FN’s submission for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System (MHS) trials, the 509 Tactical delivers unmatched versatility, ruggedness, and out-of-the-box suppressor and optics readiness.

Chambered in 9mm Luger, the FN 509 Tactical features a 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged, threaded barrel (½” x 28) for suppressor compatibility and a patented FN Low-Profile Optics Mounting System™, allowing direct mounting of over a dozen micro red dots without the need for adapter plates. The enhanced slide also includes suppressor-height night sights that co-witness with most optics and clear suppressor profiles with ease.

Its durable polymer frame is fitted with aggressive grip texturing, interchangeable backstraps for a custom fit, and a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny accessory rail for lights or lasers. The ambidextrous controls, including slide stop and magazine release, ensure operability for both left- and right-handed shooters.
