The FN Herstal BDA-380 (marketed in Europe as the FN Model 140DA) is a premium, mid-sized semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 Auto (.380 ACP). While bearing the branding of Fabrique Nationale (FN) Herstal of Belgium, the pistol was actually produced under a special manufacturing contract by Pietro Beretta in Italy between 1977 and 1997. It functions as a highly stylized variant of the famous Beretta Cheetah / Model 84 platform. Models distributed strictly by FN in Europe are stamped with the FN Monogram and "Fabrique Nationale Herstal" on the slide. They generally feature checkered black synthetic or polymer grip panels rather than wood. .380 ACP
